Neurologic Physical Therapy
Neurologic physical therapy evaluates and treats conditions caused by diseases or injuries of the nervous system. Care focuses on improving movement quality, balance, coordination, strength, and functional independence through individualized, evidence-based interventions tailored to each person’s goals and diagnosis. Neurologic physical therapy commonly addresses conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuropathy, vestibular and balance disorders, frequent falls, and other neurologic movement disorders.

At Functional Forward, care is led by Lauren, the only board-certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) who owns and operates a private practice in the Kansas City area. This advanced certification reflects extensive post-professional training and a deep commitment to neurologic rehabilitation.

While many outpatient clinics provide more generalized physical therapy services, neurologic conditions often benefit from a higher level of specialization. Our practice offers focused, one-on-one neuro-specific care with advanced clinical reasoning and individualized attention—supporting meaningful, confident movement in everyday life.
