Lauren Abelson PT, DPT, NCS
Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist
Owner, Physical Therapist
Lauren Abelson's interest in physical therapy began during her time as a student athletic trainer in high school. From there, she earned her B.S. in Nutrition at Hunter College, and then her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2006 from Stony Brook University. Since earning her degree, Lauren has spent the past 18 years focused on the treatment of adults with neurologic health conditions and pediatrics. In 2018, Lauren began to train the next generation of providers by accepting an adjunct professorship at Rockhurst University's Physical Therapy program. Finally, in 2019, Lauren capped off her neurologic focus by earning the prestigious credential of Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy. Lauren's pro-bono work includes serving on the board of Start at Zero, a KC non-profit organization that provides parents and caregivers resources for early childhood development.

Lauren and her husband have two children and live in Brookside in Kansas City. She is a fitness enthusiast (aka "gym rat") and loves the outdoors, cooking and a good thrift store deal. As a native New Yorker, she is always on the hunt for quality bagels and pizza in KC.
